About Helpside

For more than 30 years, Helpside has served as a Utah-based Professional Employer Organization (PEO) that makes it easier for small- and mid-sized businesses to employ people by streamlining payroll, employee benefits, HR, safety, and workers’ compensation services.

Our single-source solution gives each client a dedicated Payroll Specialist and HR Business Partner, plus access to a robust HR Information System for all HR functions such as onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration. We bring the systems and expertise for our clients’ HR back-office, so they can focus on what makes their business tick.

Role Overview

The BDR Manager owns Helpside’s top-of-funnel engine. You’ll lead, coach, and scale a pod of 2–3 Business Development Representatives, ensuring they consistently deliver high-quality discovery meetings for our Account Executives. Expect to run daily stand-ups, call-coaching sessions, and pipeline reviews while continually refining playbooks and outbound technology. You’ll also stay “hands-on” by prospecting strategically, setting the tone for activity, quality, and curiosity.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Run daily stand-ups, weekly 1-on-1s, and live call reviews.
  • Set clear activity, meeting, and pipeline KPIs; create performance-improvement plans when needed.

Process & Playbook Ownership

  • Build and iterate phone, email, and social cadences in Outreach and HubSpot.
  • Document objection-handling guides, ICP criteria, and hand-off SLAs to Account Executives.

Metrics & Reporting

  • WTrack dials, emails, SQLs, and sourced pipeline dollars; maintain dashboards and forecasts for Sales leadership.
  • Analyze conversion funnels to spot bottlenecks, test improvements, and share insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing on target lists, messaging, and campaign feedback.
  • Coordinate closely with Account Executives to ensure seamless prospect transitions.

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Source, interview, and hire new BDRs as the team scales.
  • Own a structured 30-60-90-day ramp plan that includes call shadowing and certification milestones.

Strategic Prospecting (20% of your time)

  • Conduct high-value outreach yourself to stay sharp, model best practices, and contribute to pipeline.

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of BDR/SDR experience and 1+ year managing or mentoring outbound reps (PEO, HR tech, SaaS, or staffing preferred).
  • Proven record of hitting team pipeline targets and improving conversion rates through data-driven coaching.
  • Expertise with Outreach (or similar), HubSpot/Salesforce, dialers, and sales-engagement analytics.
  • Strong call-coaching competence—able to break down talk tracks, tone, and objection handling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; confident presenting to executives.
  • Located in, or willing to travel periodically to, Utah front-range markets.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus team-performance bonus/override tied to SQLs and pipeline sourced.
  • 100% employer-paid health insurance for employees and family, plus access to dental, vision, life, disability, and a 401(k) match.
  • Generous PTO, paid holidays, and hybrid flexibility.
  • Ongoing professional development with sales experts.
